However, if you are looking for a new style of shoe, or if you are new to climbing the process can be a little trickier. Another piece of equipment is that is very important to every climber (ok ...not the boulderers) is a climbing harness. Choosing a harness is in many ways easier than selecting a pair of shoes. However, there are still many important factors to consider. Some experienced climbers will be looking for a harness that weighs as little as possible, however less experienced climbers will be looking for something that is going to be comfortable. Other considerations include whether to select a climbing harness that has fixed or adjustable leg loops. Adjustable loops have become the more popular choice, however this is not really necessary unless you think that you might on some occassions be using the harness with an extra pair of slacks on.
