Accessory cords are generally
constructed in the same way
as ropes (the same material,
core and sheath), but they
are
only designed to be submitted
to static loading - and thus
may not absorb dynamic
energy!!! Simply put, they
cannot absorb the fall energy
by themselves (i.e. climbers
may neither use
them as harnesses, nor fall on
them), though given accurate
dimensioning, they could be
used for anchoring or similar
purposes.
