Accessory cord is generally
constructed in the same way
as rope (the same material,
core and sheath), but the cord
is only designed to be
submitted to static loading -
and thus may not absorb
dynamic energy!!! Simply put,
such cord cannot absorb the
fall energy by itself (i.e.
climbers may neither use
cords as harnesses, nor fall
on them), though given
accurate dimensioning, they
could be used for anchoring
or similar purposes.
