This is the Andrea Boldrini Apache, which supercedes the Solution as the most expensive shoe at BananaFingers. The Apache may have a pretty hefty price tag, however when you slip one on it all begins to make sense. Andrea Boldrini pride themselves in making shoes that will perform to the highest standards without causing any unnecessary pain. You really have to try a pair on to understand just how good they are.

The Apache is the Andrea Boldrini's top model. These slippers are primarily designed for steep and overhanging rock, and as such they make a great bouldering shoe. They have a down turned toe box with specific sole tension, single Z type velcro fastening, X Tension system on the forefoot (the more you push on your toes the better support you get) and a superbly designed heel that will allow you to heel hook in any position, brilliant, a real killer shoe.

As far as sizing goes the Apache is similar to most Sportiva shoes (in other words you probably want to buy this shoes smaller than your street size). The upper is made from Lorica microfiber - and so it won't stretch over time. Feel free to give us a call or send us a message if you want a bit more advice. Don't worry if you don't buy the right size first time around because we are always happy to exchange shoes without asking for any further postage charge.

Andrea Boldrini Apache Reviews

Submited By: John Crowther on 24/11/2010
I had been off the walls for a fair while and decided that I would need to upgrade my normal shoe to help find a bit more confidence on my return. Many a shoe had caught my eye including the Matador until a friend said to check out the Apachhe. Obviously, the price tag and bold colour was the first thing to catch my eye though some later research and only a few available video reviews captured my enthusiasm. Bananafingers are right in suggesting going for a size smaller though after going for a 6 I feel even a 5.5 would have been suited for some really aggressive bouldering. The build quality is flawless; the shoe looked super stiff from the outset and had a unique look from anything I’d seen on the market before. First climbs are always interesting in any shoe but the comfort and confidence I found from the Boldrini was almost instant. I found the toe box allowed me to use even the smallest of ledges and scramble up areas of the wall that would have been inaccessible in former shoes. Whilst maintaining a super stiff sole it was a real surprise how much I could feel without suffering any discomfort. Heel hooks are now done with such ease, feels like an extra hand on the back of my foot! I couldn’t recommend these any more, simply the finest shoe to date even for an all round climber as myself. Many people at the local walls are always interested in them and they have helped me rediscover my Peter Parker days. . . . . .

I bought my first pair of these Boldrinis while at Font, suffering with my Miuras. I tried these on and they felt instantly comfortable - I can wear them for hours without the pain you get from other shoes, and I really like the slightly smeary style you develop with them. They are just perfect for bouldering - I don't think I'd wear them on long routes, but I have yet to find a better shoe.

I bought these as a cheeky change from the norm of 5.10 and la sportiva and with a price tag like this i was expecting great things. They did not deliver! The rubber is poor and not really sticky enough, the shoe is un-aggressive and flat, i dislike the rounded inner edge and the heal is just a saggy flap on the rear. The crap toe box also wore a hole in the end of both shoes at a fonnominal pace. Some good points are that they are comfortable and do perform well indoors, but then again, what shoe doesnt. So, dont buy them. my advice instead for the same style of shoe would be the la sportiva muira vs or the 5.10 gallilao's which are both much cheaper and better. Banana fingers has also got both these shoes at the cheapest price that you can get them for!

I tried on a few different makes of shoe and found comfort to be a problem i had a look at the andrea boldrini model but was skeptical about the price.I decided to try one on anyway just out of curiosity, the second my foot slipped in i knew this was the shoe for me,there was no dead space and they fitted like a glove.I decided to give them a try and spend that little extra ,what turned out to be well worth it i have had no pain and have found the shoes work well on overhanging, flat, walls inside and out.i reccomend these shoes to anyone who wants a good all round bouldering shoe.
