Andrea Boldrini

In Stock Rating: of 5 Stars!

The Andrea Boldrini Apache 5 is the latest incarnation of Bodrini's top end climbing shoe. Although they don't come cheap you are unlikely to regret spending that little bit extra. The Apache 5 has a really snug fit that will allow you to use the shoe to it's full potential without causing any unnecessary pain.

Like it's predecessors the Apache 5 is primarily designed for steep and overhanging rock, and as such they make great a great bouldering shoe. They have a down turned toe box with specific sole tension, single Z type velcro fastening, X Tension system on the forefoot (the more you push on your toes the better support you get) and a superbly designed heel that will allow you to heel hook in any position. The Apache 5 feels pretty similar to previous version, which is great because there was very little that needed improving on.

As far as sizing goes the Apache 5 is similar to most Sportiva shoes (in other words you probably want to buy this shoes smaller than your street size). The upper is made from Lorica microfiber - and so it won't stretch over time. Although Boldrini shoes are very popular in France, they are not yet widely stocked in UK stores, so we are aware that most climbers will not have tried them on before. We will be updating this page in the near future with some clear sizing advice, however in the meantime please feel free to give us a call or send us a message if you need some help. Don't worry if you don't buy the right size first time around because we are always happy to exchange shoes without asking for any further postage charge.

These shoes are ridiculous, hard to put into words just how well they perform, and as a bonus they are really comfortable. No more stuffing your feet into 1/2 sizes smaller than your trainers, my big toes are flat in these and i can leave them on for a long as i like without pain. First climb in the shoes i finished a problem i had been working on for a few weeks, purely due to being able to use the poor footholds much better, small holds feel like your standing on jugs. Even though they are stiff, the shoe still gives you the sensitivity, so your able to feel the lips etc on the holds etc. They give you so much confidence your able to focus on the climb and not worry about your feet They may be more expensive than other brands, but you get what you pay for at the end of the day, and your poor feet will thank you. I for sure am going to be buying these again, no doubt.

I've been climbing in the Apaches for a good few months now and I'm now at the point where I can give them an honest assessment. I've got pretty wide feet and the La Sportiva Katana and Solution were about the best fit I could find until I decided to take a chance on a pair of Boldrini Scorpios which fit and climb great and that gave me the confidence to buy a very expensive pair of Apaches. I got the same size as my Katanas but because of the great fit in the toe box I was able to go a full size smaller in the Boldrinis and they are still way more comfortable. You still get the full tension of the shoe but without feeling like you have to break your toes to use them. It's a bit weird to use a really snug shoe without painful toes but hey, it works for me and I've never looked back since. All my other shoes; Katanas, Solutions, Galileo's, Pontas, Muira VS, and even my Scorpios are gathering dust. The build quality is way better than than the earlier Boldrini shoes and I am very very happy with them. Expensive - YES, worth it - DEFINATELY

My god! These shoes are amazing. Can shoes be too sticky. I dont know if that is a problem for most shoes. Bouldering the shoes toe and heel sticks on everything... too well even. Crazy shoes! There wasnt a mm of space in the shoes which are quite a chore to get on as they fit so well. Easier to remove with sweaty feet.... Pretty comfy, although my feet havnt quite warmed up2 them yet as ive only climbed in them once. I just really wanted to rant about how great they are. Perfection achieved, if only they were slightly cheaper. Tiny features and smears are easy as jugs. Literally like two hands on your feet with the flexibility and grip the shoes provide.

The rubber is sticky than the La sportiva Solution. It is amazing fit both toe and heel areas. Extremely comfy and feels like a 2nd skin. Score: 9.8/10 This is my 3rd pair of Andrea Boldrini/ 5th times back to bananafingers. And the most i like is that BananaFingers has such good services, they never give up answering customer's tons of questions but provide the best services. Thanks Tom!

Extremely comfy from the word go, good sticky rubber, great for toe hooks, the only minus point is that the sole is bit too rounded, not so great on tiny features. Good all rounders.
