Submited By: Aurelio Barranco on 14/07/2009 I looked at a number of options when buying a workhorse single rope and settled on this for a number of reasons.
As a workhorse which gets used indoors I assumed the rope would take a fair amount of abuse and falls. Of course any rope can only take so many falls, so after doing a little research this rope turned out to be a good bargain in terms of falls per £. There are more expensive ropes which can take more falls, but the cost difference doesn't balance out. When you take into account other ways that ropes can be damaged buying a cheaper rope more frequently seems to make sense. This may be a strange outlook, but I consider a rope to be a consumable in some ways.
However, it is quite heavy, and at 10.2 mm some may find it handles a little stiffly.
I also bought 60m for versatility, which indoors can seem a bit long as you lug meters of the stuff between routes, but then I just think of this as additional training :)
On the whole, very happy with my purchase.
