To put this review into context i'd best explain what sort of climber i am - Im a boulderer mainly, I consistently doing font 7a/7a+ in a session. I have been climbing for approximately 8 years, I'm good at slopey stuff, but suck at crimpy stuff.
I'd advise buying the 1000 first as to start with this felt hard as i had never done any training before. after around 3-4 months of using the 1000, i began to find that it was becoming easier, too easy, and i fancied a greater challenge. I sold my 1000 for £50 (lots of people want a beastmaker but think £70 is a lot for a bit of wood, allbeit a nice one!) then bought the 2000.
The largest holds are enough to warm up on, I do a set on these to warm up, then do a harder set on a variety of more difficult holds, ten cool down with a set of holds that i find easier.
Great board, great way to judge your progress, and see your strength improve speedily!
Get one, but be careful!
