Also once you get use to belaying the device works wonders. My brother borrows it of me sometimes when he belays as he has a sport belay which doesn't hold as well as this one. Would recommend it to everyone! It doesn't feed rope as smoothly as the Petzl Reverso 3, but it's very close and a lot cheaper. You can do abseiling with it, too, but you can't belay seconding climbers with it. It doesn't wear off, even if used a lot, and it doesn't get too hot either. It's got a very good value-for-money-ratio.
