Straightforward padding for boulderers on a budget, the Black Diamond Impact provides the same dimensions and cushioning of the Drop Zone without the pocket or flaps. If you don’t have much to carry, the Black Diamond Impact offers a lot of value with two and a half inches (64 mm) of cushy open-cell foam and one inch (25 mm) of force-dissipating closed-cell foam. Using a taco design, the Impact is a snap to fold up and carry with its minimalist design, stainless steel buckles, removable, padded shoulder straps and hip belt.

Been using this pad consistently for about half a year and I really like it. It does soften quite a bit so is even better when coupled with a harder pad but it's a great size to chuck in the back of the car and to lug around boulder areas. Simple folding design is great, you can even squeeze a bit of gear in when it's folded up.

Good design and a good contruction in the seam but the foam, specially the opencell foam, has been reducen in 1cm in only 1 year. The cushions are full of foam powder. Now it is jast a doormat.

Just back from my local bloc and once again I used my Impact pad,I have several pads from small to giant but this is my go to pad.Lightweight with good straps and plenty of cushion make it ideal for all but the highest blocs,basically a drop zone for the lighter pocket and if your going out you'll have a bag anyway so why shell out for a pocket.So if you need an all round goodpadthis is one of the best.

Well only after 4 weeks I think I've got my money back from this, thanks to some great weather! We have a few pads and this one is the one you want to land on if you're a little high when you come off! So thats a thumbs up from the rest of the group too. Plenty of padding and easy to get into position and it stays there when you land on it. One the down side the shoulder straps could be better, but they're still good, and the light grey shows up the muck and blood, but who cares about that! All in all, a great buy!
