The Black Diamond Ozone is a sport climbing harness for those looking to attach as little extra weight to themselves as possible and at 320g (medium) its fair to say that its on the light side of things. The Kinetic Core Construction on the waistband uses Vectran strands which run the length of the harness to evenly distribute load and eliminate the requirement fot foam padding. There are 4 gear loops on the Black Diamond Ozone as well as a breathable 3D mesh lining and a speed adjust buckle.

I have had this harness now for about 3 months and have used it indoors and outdoors regularly and have found it to be surprisingly comfortable. its not a light as the Petzl Hirundoss and its main disadvantage is a lack of any gear loops on the back which the petzel has. i have sat in it for long periods and it is defiantly comfy so no worries there and all the straps are much bigger than the petzel. all in all im pleased with it despite the gear loop issue (a piece of prussic sorted it out) but would go for the Hirundos next time

There will always be fans of lightweight harnesses who search for the ever-elusive way of making grams disappear. With a wife and 3 daughters I have been convinced to purchase two. However, despite the regular ''no compromise on safety'' sentence that appears with these harnesses I wonder how well they fit compared to a conventional harness, especially on rain-soaked weekend breaks with the cost of the plane and hotel unreasonably swaying the decision to climb. Yes, the weight is saved. The harness is easy to grab & throw into the bag as you rush to the plane for those weekend climbing breaks, however, in the long-term the weather and other unknown quantities where you`ll be climbing mean you`ll probably be buying a second harness, ''just in case.'' the Black Diamond Ozone feels smart, light and modern (for me), but my wife felt happier with adjustables on snow and ice.
