The Boreal Blade is aimed at boulderers and sport climbers. This aptly named shoe has a low toe profile, which when combined with extra rigidity in this area makes for a shoe that is very well suited to projects with small pockets and edges. Like the Storm, the Boreal Blade has a split leather upper and padded mesh tongue for comfort. A canvas lining should ensure that these shoes do not stretch too much, so you shouldn't have to grit your teeth as you wear them in. Although the Blade doesn't use Boreal's new Mi-fit system, a tight fit is easily achieved using the two wide velcro straps. The interior of the heel is nice and deep with minimum dead space, whilst the exterior makes use of Boreal's popular rubber ridges. In summary, if you have a steep, crimpy, edgy problem then you could do a lot worse than the Boreal Blade. If you are more at home burling your way up overhanging boulder problems then you might want to go for something with a bit more flex.
