Camp Ball Nuts
(previously
known as Lowe Balls) have a
unique design, which makes
use of the principle of
opposing wedges to give
protection in thin parallel
cracks where nothing else can
be placed. A sliding ball
pushes against a grooved
wedge when weighted and the
system provides enough
protection against low fall
factor falls. Ball nuts will
protect fissures as small as
3mm while maintaining a
breaking strength of 8
kN.
Being thinner than cams,
ball nuts will protect smaller
fissures. The design of these
nuts also ensures that they
make more contact with the
rock that standard cams. |
