The world’s best precision climbing shoe has gotten even better, by adding a state-of-the-art heel, nicknamed “magic fingers” for its phenomenal gripping qualities, both fit and comfort have been improved. Any potential dead space is gone, and both precision and power are increased. Five-Ten have also used Onyxx, the highest friction, most durable climbing rubber in the universe.

Five-Ten Anasazi Verde Reviews

Submited By: Sam Burton on 26/11/2010
The design of the shoe is brilliant! I found the rubber to be very sticky while i was climbing out in Spain and that i could stand on the tiniest footholds which i wouldn't even have thought possible! I have found that the shoe can heel hook very well. The shoe performs well on indoor walls as well. I did however find that the shoes pull handles where not up to the standard of quality i expected from such a well known brand as they started to pull apart from the seams. Overall i would say that the shoe is very good for sport climbing and bouldering and that i would recommend it to someone else but with a cautious word on pull handles.

Im now currently wearing in my 4th pair of 'verdes', i can't think of any other shoe i'd consider wearing on gritstone. They work great straight out of the box, the onyxx rubber gives excellent friction and this only improves the more they are worn in. Sizing - Im a freek with massive size 14 feet, i started in a pair of size 13 anasazis and then decided to go for a pair of 12's, which fit perfectly. The uppers dont so much stretch as they do mould to the shape of your foot, which means i can stay in these for more than three hours at a time without my feet cramping at all - happy times! However, all feet are different so i'd advise trying these shoes on in a different shop before getting back on the computer and giving these lovely people your money instead ;) If you have wide feet i would suggest trying the velcro's instead, although when your feet get really sweaty and you are using your heel, the heel tends to come away from your foot - this has not yet happened to me with the verde. Also if you are looking for a shoe for steep limestone sport (i.e the snore) choose the whites instead.

The anasazi verde is a good shoe for all styles of climbing. There are a few flaws however, 5-10 still haven't solved the anasazi dead space problem as this shoe does have a minimal amount in the heel area, although as it is lace up you can still use the heel to great effect and it does heel hook very well. Another small problem I had was the black lining around the laces came off after about 5 minutes of bouldering, this does however not affect the performance in any way it just looked tatty so I pulled it all off. The sizing for the anasazi verde is slightly larger than other climbing shoes I was half a size bigger in this shoe (so check before you buy). It is snug fitting and can be worn on long sessions without discomfort. I feel they are slighlty over priced at around £75.00, but arent all climbing shoes!

This is simple shoe with a great heel and toe. It is NOT a technical shoe for people who like heavily curved shoes. This is my second pair of Anasazi, the black thread around the laces does flake up but this doesn't effect its climbing capabilities. I would prefer a Velcro version as its a pain to get off. You should try it first as getting the right size is crucial as the sizing is slightly bigger then other climbing shoes.

Great shoes, really good at edging and super versatile from bouldering to trad climbing. Went climbing today and I was using holds I would never of dreamed of before. Highly recommended.
