The Five-Ten Blackwing has been likened to a velcro version of the Five-Ten Dragon. Sound good? It gets better, the Blackwing has the super tight heel from the team shoe and Stealth HF rubber has been used for the best friction on overhangs. There is a fleecy microfiber lining on the padded tongue which wicks away sweat so that the top of your foot is supported well no matter how it is placed.

Reviewing a climbing shoe from pictures is... well, bad, to keep it polite. These shoes are actually great. A mix of Dragons and Jet7. Quite close the Miura VS from La Sportiva in terms of stiffness and downturn, but with better comfort (at least for my foot). The heel cup is smaller than other Five Ten shoes, which is great in my opinion.

This might sound a bit premature as I have only seen pictures of the Blackwing. However, do Fiveten think that no one remembers the original Velcro Dragos, which by the look of it, these are, with some cosmetic changes! and a greatly inflated price tag!
