The Five-Ten Galileo is a lightweight climbing shoe developed by the companies European R&D team, and then perfected in their Redlands testing facility. The Galileo was designed as a high-performance shoe for high-level climbing. This is a stiff shoe and very supportive with more comfort than an anasazi.

My favourite shoe by a mile. I don't have particularly strong feet and my toes are prone to arthritic pain so a stiff boot is essential for me. Very few manufacturers provide a technical boot which is also stiff. These shoes have awesome edging capability - better than my less comfortable Anasazi VCS. The heel fits a lot better too and stays put whilst hooking. They are well made and last well. Out of the box they may be a bit clumpy for smearing but this soon improves. They are a perfect boot for middle E grades where you might be on your feet a long time since they are so comfortable and give such strong edging support. Being velcro's you can quickly remove them at the belay too. It will be a very sad day if Five Ten ever discontinue these shoes.

I'm no expert on climbing shoes. I'm leading F6a approx at present. Street shoe size UK10. Previous shoes were Red Chili Spirit VCR size UK8.5. Got Galileos in UK9. The Galileos are shorter heel to toe than my Red Chilis and cause my toes to bend more. In fact I end up with "dents" in the skin over my toe joints from the pressure of the shoe uppers. This makes the shoes pretty painful at first, but they seem to be moulding to my feet a bit more after using them outside 3 or 4 times and inside a few times too. I struggled to smear effectively with my right foot (bigger foot = tighter shoe), due to the bent toes, at the indoor wall. The shoes do, however, seem to be very good for edging on small holds on the limestone and hard sandstone sport climbing that I have been doing lately. The width and volume of the shoe is fine. Good shoes that have improved my confidence and performance on the sort of climbs I'm doing at the moment.

Very good shoes and very reasonably priced compared to others at the same level. Fit my feet perfectly as they are not too narrow.

After a recomendation I decided to replace my worn out climbing shoes with a new pair. I got my hands on a fresh pair of 5.10 Galileo's - new design as well! As soon as I got them out the box I could tell I was in for a treat. After scuffing them up a bit all was well with good all round performance. I managed to wear these fresh out the box for a good 2.5 hours before my big toe started grumbling too much. The rest of my toes could have taken another 10 hours solid climbing I reckon! I managed to lead one of my climbing nemis's at my local climbing centre. A few months ago I managed to top rope this route in one clean run but since then leading it has felt impossible. With my Galileos strapped on I felt more confident and off I went all the way to the top. What a difference a shoe can make! I'm looking forward to wearing these shoes in and really pushing myself on the harder routes indoors and out.

I Brought these at the beginning of year as an upgrade to some 'seen better days' Boreal Spiders. For the first part I mainly used them indoors and found that they had great edging potentital and amazing grip. The rand around the heel is great for heel hooks. Recently with the better weather I have been outdoors playing on single and multi-pitch trad routes, and again have been amazed by the grip. They are also very comfortable and I have been up multiple pitches with no discomfort. These are a brilliant all rounder offering the precise edging capabilities and stifness required for the hardest indoor sport routes as well as the comfort to stay out all day on long multi-pitch routes.

This Shoe is Great, I use it one time and ever again :) I has a good grip and the feeling is great to. I use this shoe on plastic, and in the "Franken Jura". Bananafingers Deliver fast and has a first class service big thx. Greetings From Germany Sebastian
