The La Sportiva Katana is a technical shoe with an innovative closure, consisting of two Velcro straps with differentiated and opposite pull direction. Ideal for multi-purpose use in the mountains, crags and bouldering. The successful combination of synthetic and natural materials provides the best compromise between comfort, technical performance and inalterability in the long run. A special midsole with prehensile area under the toe provides optimal edging support, increasing sensitivity. I wear these all the time- have actually lost count of the number of pairs of these I've owned, worn and destroyed. They're great!
They seem to be the best fitting shoe I can find, technical enough for most things comfy for hours of training. I love the toes.
That said, for really technical bouldering I wear solutions as they are just a little bit more precise and the Katannas heel although O.K. isn't the best for tenuous heel hooks (again get some solutions). Also now the price has gone up they seem like slightly less good value.
However, I'll keep on wearing them for almost everything. Great shoes!

Cindarella moment!!!....what more can I say! I love these sweet shoes, fell in love with them years ago and that love is gettin stronger!! :o) Seriously though, as always, great service from all at bananafingers! You're amazing. Love is in the air! :o)

These shoes are lovely. They've actually made me a better boulderer, or maybe that's the extra hours I've been putting in. Either way they are comfy, bit tight in the toes but that's how I like them!

Bought these (size 39.5) from Bananafingers a couple of months back (excellent service, of course) and now I really rate them. I say 'now' because at first they just weren't that sticky and I started to regret not getting another pair of Anazasis. However, a couple of weeks ago they started to really stick and now I'm able to do problems in these that I struggle with in my battered 5.10s. I like the slight downturn and the edging capability; and the stickiness - now that they've worn in - is top. Great fit too: I love the heel, which is way better than the Anasazi. They have stretched a tiny bit mind so would probably go for 39 next time (I'm size 42 street shoe, by the way).

Yeah got these as a gift. The bf shoe calculator is pretty much spot on for these. I sized down 2 sizes for the Katana's. I have wide feet and these shoes feel very comfortable. The edges are really good as is the heel. The rubber is very sticky too.

I tried many different brands & models on before making a decision, but the Katana's were the best for the combination of a snug fit & fitting my foot's shape without pinching/rubbing. Have since worn them quite a few times, great grip, tight toe control, very happy with them.
Great service from BananaFingers, shoes came tighter than the ones I'd tried, but had no problem in exchanging for a half size bigger, cheers!

Amazing shoe !
Comfortable , great edges , good rubber and in my opinion great for beginners and intermediates !
These are my day to day climbing shoes and are great , They take a hammering week in week out and havnt let me down yet ! Edges still feel like new ( a few months in ) and the shoes are not showing any signs of giving up for a long time !
I tried a lot of shoes before I found these and when my pair wear out I'll be ordering the same again !
You won't be dissapointed with the katanas !

These shoes are incredible. Very comfy, great edges, great fit. I climb regularly indoor at dynamic rock and these are great. I had the evolv defy before at size 9.5 and my big toes felt like they would explode, but these at 9 are perfect. To be more aggressive outdoor I would go to 8.5 but no need for what I am doing.
Banana fingers service was as good as it gets and I will keep buying from here until I find a cheaper, better shop. This is very unlikely as I have be scouring the Internet a lot over the last couple of years and this always comes out on top.

really love these - in fact I'v bought two pairs so I can rotate them for resoling. very comfortable, nice precise toe. only downside is the velcro straps tend to pull apart
