Submited By: Alan Hills on 25/11/2009 The shoe everyone has been waiting for...and boy was that waiting worth it! The technical perfection of the muira combined with a foot-hugging, quick and easy velcro release system.
Slightly larger than the lace-up with surprisingly little stretch over time, the shoe fits from the first day you pull it on. I would recommend sizing down one size from street shoes for a comfortable fit as these shoes don't need to be crushing the bones in your feet to give great performance.
I was amazed at how effectively the three velcro straps mould the shoe to your feet, giving you a super sensitive feel allowing you to caress the rock as if you'd known it for years.
The only negative I have noticed in this super all-rounder is that the positioning of the lower velcro buckle results in considerable wear which will eventually lead to the lower straps being sheared off. If you love jamming your feet into cracks and getting crazy toe hooks on every legde you see, this might happen pretty quickly.
To top it off, La Sportiva's Vibram rubber is still one of the stickiest things out there. Whether its balancing on credit card edges or hanging from one of the most solid heels in the business, these shoes will do their best to keep you stuck onto whatever it is that you climb.
If you haven't got a pair yet, then do yourself a favour because you're missing out.
