Manufactured to Metolius Safe-Tech specifications whereby all possible components of the harness are engineered to withstand a load of at least 10kN (2250 lbf), the typical maximum impact force rating of a modern climbing rope. The Safe-Tech system attempts to eliminate harness related accidents by building in safety features that back up critcal mistakes (like belaying off a gear loop or tying in properly) and also draw attention to any errors made.
