The Metolius Safe Tech Helmet lives up to its name, Metolius have focussed not only on protecting your bonce from falling rock but also during a fall (where the majority of injuries occur). Fall protection is increased by the use of a full EPS liner which extends to the sides and back of the helmet, this liner has a hard ABS shell which adds to the durability. The Metolius Safe Tech Helmet has great ventilation so your head will remain cool and keep sweat to a minimum and a simple buckle is used for no fuss adjustability.

It's solid and fits well. A downside to all the solidity and protection is that its very warm. This isn't a problem for winter use but I was sweating buckets when I wore it in the alps! I also had one of the retaining screws for the head cradle loosen and fall out which was a minor inconvenience as I was in Chamonix at the time but a quick email to Tom at Banana Fingers resulted in a new helmet waiting for me when returned home! Overall very impressed at the level of protection it offers which is, after all, what its meant to do best. I suspect that there may be an issue with the retaining screws securing the head cradle but it's probably too early to draw a conclusion.

Used mine every weekend for the last 3 months, it's light, tough and feels really safe with the full thickness liner. No problems to report.

Poor quality retaining screws fell out of the helmet rendering it useless. [BananaFingers Comment: We were able to offer a full refund for this item. This does not look to be a recurring problem].
