Rating: of 5 Stars!

The Moon Cypher pant is a best-seller in the trouser category. Basically it is an upgrade to the old S7 pant that some of you may have rocked before. It has been beefed up using a midweight, 60/40 poly/cotton blend for increased strength and durability. It is fast-drying and wind resistant; the perfect pant for cool days on the rock.

As you would expect Moon have put some thought into ensuring the Cypher pant feels good to climb in. It has a diamond crotch and articulated knees, which provide great freedom of movement when squatting or stepping high. The waist is elasticated, it has draw cords at the ankles and deep zippered pockets which snap shut. This really is a great pant which we highly recommend.

The available colours are black, black camo, blue, brown and dark olive.

Moon Cypher Pant Reviews

Great pant, have used them indoors and out. Nice soft fabric and good fit BUT elastic at the bottom of one of the legs which is used to cinch them up broke on second use, a bit disappointed but all in all i am happy with them.

First the good points - they work well for climbing compared with normal trousers which stick to your legs when you get sweaty and generally constrict movement. Also they have zip pockets (albeit with silly flaps) so stuff wont fall out when you are hanging off an overhang. The material has cotton as well as nylon making it thicker than tracksuit bottoms which is good even at the climbing wall to protect against scrapes and probably essential on real rock. Now the bad points: first they are overpriced for what are essentially very baggy tracksuit trousers. Second there are no loops for a belt and the waist elastic and drawcord are flimsy and don't give much confidence. Third, they don't have a fly which is a nuisance after a couple of hours at the climbing wall....

Nice pair of trousers, Nicely engineered but essentially they are just a pair of poly-cotton trousers. The waist elastic is not really strong enough and the drawstrings feel a bit cheap. Although i Like mine for knocking about in. I can't help but feel they are not really worth the high price! Similar alternatives are available from other brands for a 1/3 of the price!
