The Rab Ascent Jacket is designed to be a fantastic allround jacket for use in the mountains, trekking or travel (even if just a winter walk to work) at a great price. The Ascent uses the durable Pertex Endurance fabric for its outer to provide water resistance, this is filled with 330g of US650 fill duck down which means that it is very warm for its weight. The Rab Ascent is a bit longer in the body than other models and comes with a detachable hood, handwarmer pockets and fleece lined neck baffles.

The service from Banana Fingers was excellent . The jacket is good but being a person who feels the cold was not as warm as I had hoped for using for walking which is the use I wanted to put it to . It seems to be suitable for someone like me to cool, windless days rather than cold days with wind chill. I am using it a lot for walks on cool days but have purchased a Rab Jannu for really cold days

Shopped around before Xmas for this jacket as a gift for my husband. This site was the best value of all those I checked. I knew exactly which jacket and size and colour so it was easy to compare. This was great value, the delivery was very prompt. Jacket arrived in perfect condition. Five stars all the way!

I have to be out in all weather conditions and need to have some decent kit, the Rab Ascent Jacket has the bits I need such as a reasonable down fill, a detachable hood, hem draw strings, and velcro wrist adjustment. It's a good length but is quite roomy, so go try one on before buying. It's not as snug as my old North Face jacket but it has the length I want. It also does pack down quite well if you need to carry it in a backpack. It does the job but is a bit pricey. I also wear a Mountain Hardwear Alcove which seems to beat most jackets I've worn for comfort and warmth but it's synthetic, doesn't pack down, or have a detachable hood.

Product was purchased wih the advent of the 2012 winter period and delivered in good time. Usage is for commuter travel and forest trail hikes during cold periods. Used in the N.E. Scotland and Norway with good effect. Heat retaining qualities are very good and the wearer could easily wear a T shirt underneath. Hood is particulary welcome in a combination of wind and snow. Colleagues remarked on the good price.

Great jacket. Does what it says and good water resistant outer. Great service from Banana Fingers, but don\'t bother paying for next day delivery - Royal Mail \" next day\" stats from when the local post office gets the parcel, not from when you order! BananaFingers: Hi Dave, The next day service should result in next day working day [Mon-Sat] delivery for orders placed before 2pm. However, there are occasions when the Post Office slips up ...I\'m really sorry if that happenned in this case. Glad you liked the jacket!
