The Sterling Evolution Velocity 9.8mm is the most popular rope in the Evolution series. It has been deveoloped in conjunction with Chris Sharma and it is easy to see why he has made this his rope of choice. At just 62g/m it is light for a 9.8mm rope, and with just the right amount of stiffness so your rope doesn't flop during critical clips the Velocity really can give you the edge. The sheath of the Evolution Velocity is silky smooth such that it withstands abrasion and slides effortlessly to reduce rope drag. All Sterling ropes have Dry Core treatment, which reduces yarn on yarn abrasion in addition to moisture absorption. This helps Sterling ropes maintain their strength for longer.
The Sterling Evolution Velocity is a "do it all" rope that can be used for sport, trad, steep ice and hard mixed routes. Whereas this is a great rope for climbers of any level it should appeal most to those who are really trying to push the boundaries.
