I’ve bought the harness one year ago and having another Wild Country Elite Ziplock harness (the previous model), the idea was to use the Syncro only as a winter harness. So after one season of winter alpine climbing this is what I can say about the harness: The goodies: First and foremost the double buckles on the waist- no matter what you’re wearing, you always have centered harness. This harness has all the features a harness could have plus is extremely comfortable. Gear loops are more enough to take your entire rack and even then you re comfortable in the harness. The back gear loop is slightly bigger than on the Ziplock, which makes it actually useful. The baddies: The front gear loops could have been tilted forward. The orange fabric looks cheap and crappy. It has proven to be sturdy, but the looks… Verdict: The Syncro Ziplok is probably the most versatile harness on the market today and with a bit more attention to the detail it has the potential to become the best-ever harness.

I originally decided to buy this harness after trying it on in rockcity in my hometown, and I was surprised to find it so cheap on banana fingers because it was ranging at £70 everywhere else. Although I have only used the harness a couple of times since buying it, I am in no doubt it was the right one. It looks great and is quite like, especially with the load it can hold, also the double adjustment straps on either side make it that much better for adjustment. My only criticism is the sizes, as I am 6ft 2" and am average size for my height, yet when I originally tried it on in the shop, I got a medium and this was far too big, so I have had to get a small. Also when you get a larger size, the style of the harness changes to. But overall I can't really fault it, especially for the price.

A great all round harness! A ziplock on each side of the waist loop and one on each leg loop make it easily adjustable to any size, even my practically non-existent waist. This harness is incredibly comfortable, after a while you forget you've even got it on. The harness has an inbuilt wear indicator system on the belay loop and both tie in points (colour shows through the black fabric when it needs replacing) which i think is a really neat idea. Both large and small models include 7 gear loops, 3 10kn accessory loops and a 10kn haul loop so whatever your doing you won't have a lack of space to put your gear. The only realistic negative i can think of with this harness is it is quite a bulky harness so not the greatest space saving item, and some would say its weight is an issue but who really cares about a few grams. Good: ziplocks, comfort, gear loops, wear indicator Bad: bulky, weight? The only reason for you not to get one of these is if your a fanatic about saving weight. Also £16 off the RRP is nothing to scoff at. Hope this has helped make up your mind. Sam
