Boulder X

The La Sportiva Boulder X is the result of years of dedication and design tweaking. They have managed to produce a shoe that not only looks great but has great levels of support and comfort.

The exterior of the shoe is fairly stiff, and the rubber toe rand adds an extra layer of protection to your toes whilst also providing some extra grip. Despite a tough, durable exterior the Boulder X is one of the comfiest approach shoes around. This is due to the mesh lining which is present in the back half of the shoe and the inside of the tongue.

A bit of extra underfoot padding (compared to previous models) results in longer term comfort on trickier approaches, whereas the uber sticky Vibram® Idro-Grip rubber compound stays sticky on every type of rock even when wet. The leather uppers incorporate a patented asymmetric lacing system derived from the Mythos climbing shoe project.

Thanks Banana Fingers absolutely great shoe! Fantastic shoe for lower end grades and scrambles. Haven't found one that can compare. This is the second set ive had the first set wore out after about three years of hard use!

I have to admit, that this is the best shoes I've ever own. I used to like berghouse, helly hansen, etc. but La Sportiva is in different league. Since now only this brand for me. Now I felt in love with LS Synthesis mid gtx hiking shoes :) so thats my next buy and I'm sure I will be happy.
Thanks BananaFingers for great service and speedy delivery . . . all the best to You

I've had these shoes for about 3 years. They've pretty much had daily use; approaching crags, climbing, scrambling and around town. They've survived well until they've finally given up and a hole has formed on near the toe. Given the usage I've had from them I think it is very respectable. I can't give any criticisms really other than they take a couple of months to wear in properly and get comfy in my experience. They are OK for easy rock routes up to VDiff and scrambles and they're my first choice for long easy multi pitch routes. They're good for approaching crags as long as it's not too muddy which in my opinion a trail running shoe would be better. This is not a criticism of this shoe, just an observation of this style of shoe, they wouldn't be so good on rock if they were designed like a trail running shoe.

In short, a good shoe which I will be buying again

well i bought these to work outdoor as an approach shoe.
( exactly what it says on the tin).

after less than a week of use the upper and split open through to the my socks.and the soap had started to peal away from the shoe.

so took them back to the retailer.

swapped them out for a new pair. had those three days working indoor at a climbing centre, no climbing or anything like that in them.
again the upper split. so again back to the retailer,,,

got rid off those pieces of S*$T.

swapped them for HAGLOFS VERTIGO 11Gt.

the boulder X are the worst manufactured shoe i have ever had the misfortune to own
