Air Force 3
The Beal Air Force 3 is a guide belay plate best suited for use with half and twin ropes (but can also be used with single ropes). V-grooves create extra friction to improve rope braking, particularly with thinner ropes. The Beal Air Force 3 also includes a small insert hole which, when a carabiner is clipped through it, can release the tension on the ropes when used in guide mode.
