The Edelrid Jul 2 is a single rope belay device with an innovative design which creates large amounts of braking assistance during a fall. When a fall is taken the belay carabiner is pulled upwards into the Jul 2's notch, this squeezes the rope creating high braking performance.
Tough core material of abrasion-resistant stainless steel
Optimized geometry ensures easy operation even for beginners
High braking performance assists the belayer with leader falls
Rope can be paid out faster to a leader by holding the device in the “open” position with the thumb
Perfect handling, even for ropes with a larger diameter
Suitable for 8.9 –11.0 mm single ropes
Edelrid were the first rope manufacturer to adapt their ropes to meet the Swiss bluesign® system. It is the most stringent environmental standard for the production of textile products, based on the five principles of resource productivity, consumer safety, water emission, air emission as well as occupational health & safety. The bluesign® product label is a seal of quality: It guarantees an eco-friendly manufacturing process that is low in pollutants and is safe for health and the environment.
Working sustainably with metals! Edelrid use steel wherever necessary with all products that are used together with ropes when climbing. Hard-wearing steel prevents premature wear from rope friction, burrs or sharp edges and thus not only makes climbing gear long-lasting, but also prolongs the lifetime of ropes. By using steel, Edelrid not only enhance the lifetime of their hardware and ropes. But are also the first manufacturer of climbing gear to establish a sustainable, closed cycle for the wall which allows rope and hardware to interact without wearing out in the long run.
