The Climbing Technology Click Up is an innovative bealy device which is incredibly safe and easy to use and eliminates the need for mechanisms and levers. The Click Up allows you to quickly and easily feed rope or take it in without jams by simply holding the rope either side of the device. In the event of a fall the HMS carabiner will automatically move into a position which blocks the ropes movement and immediately stops the fall. This position is easily unlocked by pushing up on the device.

If used incorrectly the Click Up continues to allow you to brake and lower your partner in complete safety, a very useful feature.

The Click Up is entirely designed and manufactured in Italy from high quality materials. It is assembled with high quality hot forged aluminium cheeks, steel braking supports and reinforced nylon parts wherever plastic is required.

Can be used with ropes of diameter 8.9 - 10.5mm.

If the above description of how this works sounds like the ramblings of a mad man then it might be worth checking out the video below.

Simply superb

Absolutely love this. Far easier to use than a Gri Gri and personally I think it's safer. Downside being you can't abseil with it. Works far more like a normal plate meaning it's easy to learn and give to people who aren't used to an auto-locking device.

Have been using a click up for about a month now and several drawbacks have emerged. Firstly, it doesn't hang well on the supplied crab, and is hard to clip onto your harness when not in use, which is just annoying.

Secondly and more seriously, it is temperamental about ropes - it works well on my newish 10.5 but doesn't like my mate's older rope of the same size, which gets horribly twisted when lowering off, often to the point of jamming altogether. Most of the furry ropes at our local climbing wall simply won't work with it at all, being almost impossible to feed through.

Thirdly, the crab gets very hot on long lowers and, because the device is quite small, and your hand is therefore very close to the crab, it's hard to avoid getting burned.

I like the idea of the click up, especially the ease of paying out rope, much better than Grigri, but in use the thing has proved to be an expensive disappointment which I wouldn't recommend.

Simple and effective for what it does - just an extra level of security during normal belaying. Easy to learn to use as well.

I prefer this to the gri gri 2 and my cinch device. I discovered it on a climbing holiday and have since bought one. I cant see myself using anything else except my atc guide which is for a different purpose.

I had these recommended by a fellow climbing instructor, and so bought three to use for the pupils at my school who I teach climbing to. I was very impressed at how simple they are to use and how quickly the pupils were able to adjust to using them. A great piece of kit that I am completely sold on.
