Camalot C4 - 2

Here it is, the C4 cam slightly transformed....for 2019. Now 10% lighter, yet just as durable, the lobes have been made lighter by sculpting them more to optimise strength to weight ratio. These bad boys outclass the beloved third generation of Black Diamond Camalots, now with a wider trigger for easier handling and the slings have been updated visually for easier identification. The Black Diamond Camalots’ double-axle design allows retraction of larger cam lobes, giving them a much larger expansion range than traditional single-axle units. Because loading forces are shared between both axles, this design has the strength to work as a full-strength cam stop, allowing the cam to function as passive pro if it walks back into a wider part of a crack and umbrellas. This is the fourth generation of Black Diamond Camalots and they just keep getting better—they are 40-percent lighter than the originals, the cable loop and trigger are easy to grab, and the slings are large enough to manipulate with gloves.

Bought 12 camalots from Banana Fingers over the past 4 months. They inspire more confidence when I lead that other cams. They just seem so solid somehow. Also I had great service from Banana Fingers. I would buy from them again.

Being a relative novice to rock climbing, I purchased a set of cams from bananafingers sizes 0.75, 1, 2 and 3 to give me the best chance at Stanage Edge, Peak District, Derbyshire. I already have a full set of nuts and hexes but wanted the flexibility and peace-of-mind that comes from having cams available. I chose the Black Diamond C4 Cams as they have several advantages. The cams;
a) have a useful overlap between cam sizes meaning that potentially fewer cams need to be carried and possibly more importantly in these hard times, purchased.
b) have four cams which allows for a more secure placement, particularly useful in uneven rock.
c) are easy to use and easy to control allowing ofr dead easy placement and equally easy cleaning or removal even with gloves.
d) are lighter than some other cams being easier to carry up the crag.
e) look fantastic! - Honestly every one that I have climbed with since have commented on the cams.
The size 2 came in useful when I bailed out on RIP, a Severe at at Baildon Bank. Basically, I had placed other protection but there was a underhang vertical crack under the slab that I needed to get up. I couldn’t find a way up RIP so the choice was either to climb down or get lowered down. I trusted the Black Diamond Size 2 cam to the extent that I placed it in the crack and was easily and comfortably lowered off the route.
How much better can it get than that?

Hi guys,
I´m from Frankfurt/Germany! BananaFingers is the best shop on the island. Quick answers to e-mails, best prices, cheap and fast shipping (DHL) to Germany. Paypal or creditcard as I wish!
I bought a lot of Camalots C4, I believe "the Mercedes" among the Cams.
All my mental (climbing) problems are gone :-)
Thanks guys from Banana fingers!
