This bulky item will cause your order to be delivered by courier. Please expect your order to be delayed by one day if you add it to your cart.

All Moon pads use the highest quality closed-cell and open-cell foams bonded together into a single piece; ultra hardwearing ballistic nylon fabric; lightweight MOON-logoed aluminium/aluminum buckles, and padded shoulder straps.

Featuring the innovative “reverse fold” system, folding taco style to provide a surface with no creases and with the landing surface folding to the outside. In this “reverse fold,” the up-side with the firm foam also has the carry straps. When you shoulder your MOON pad after using it over muddy ground, the lower (dirty) surface of the pad folds in, saving your clothes, your car seats, or your mother’s carpet, from that dirt you’ve been throwing it into all day long.

On the landing surface, a sturdy flap covers the shoulder straps so you won’t trip on them, but it also keeps the carry area free of dirt, even if the pad is flipped over. Neatly, the same flap turns back down and around, exposing the straps while wrapping the lower end of the pad to secure your gear in carry mode.

Saturn

Named after the second largest planet in our solar system Saturn is the big daddy of the Moon pad family and measures 160 x 120 x 14 cm. It has all the same features as the Warrior but just a bigger and thicker landing area. Features padded rucksack shoulder straps. Approx weight is 8kg or 17lbs.

I've owned the Moon Warrior for a few years so was inspired to try a bigger model. The improvements are good. The construction, design and features are spot on and it works brilliantly as a crash pad. It's given me the confidence to go harder.

Arrived on schedule. Product fine, as expected. Bulky light weight seems to have been subject to some careless handling in transit with resultant torn bubble wrap. Content undamaged. Difficult to see what more the sender could reasonably have done though.

Had this pad for a while and I think its awesome! It's no trouble and not too heavy for long walk-ins. It covers loads of floor space, is thick and firm with no gap/split in the foam like some pads. The dirty side folds into the middle so that you keep clean and the fold over shoe mat/strap cover is genius. Its the best pad I've used and always the best pad at the crag.
This pad is great for topping off the pad mountain when 'high balling'

First off banana fingers are amazing, they had ridiculous quotes from couriers to post this pad to my house (Guernsey). Most other stores would have only asked one or two couriers (it's happened before!) but BF kept searching and posted this to my house for free. This isn't the first time I've had exceptional service from them!

In my opinion this pad is the best pad available in the UK. This pad is a pleasure to land on and is massive so fills me with confidence on high problems. The foam is wrapped in plastic which at first I found annoying but it has settled and I now realize it is very useful in keeping the foam dry and increases the lifespan.

The whole pad is well thought out and tough but it is the foam quality that it makes it exceptional, I've noticed in bouldering films that people will have one of these sitting on top of a pile of their sponsored pads so they must agree.

The only downside to this pad is if you carry a big rucksack inside it then you will need to place your stuff in the middle of the pad to close it, with the straps being at the bottom (rather than the middle) this makes it unbalanced and strenuous to carry.

I have had my Moon Saturn Crash Pad for a few months now. I liked the price and delivery from Banana Fingers was prompt although my wife spotted a small oily mark on the red cover. I didn't bother complaining because I knew that in the immediate future the mat would be getting a thrashing.
I have spent the last couple of months using the mat on Bodmin Moor. I have really enjoyed the landing area offered by the mat although it is quite large to carry on some of the walk-ins (especially when it is windy).
The mat is the envy of some of the people that I boulder with although not all comments have been positive.
As mentioned, the mat is sizeable. It offers a great landing area which fills one with confidence. The (waterproof) plastic bag which lines the foam causes me no end of bother as the nylon cover has become baggy thus making landings awkward and potentially dangerous. This is especially noticeable on uneven ground. My old SNAP mat has not gone baggy!
I think that, for me, the carrying straps would benefit from a waist strap and chest strap. This would afford greater stability when I attach my rucksack onto the mat.
I like the carpet that velcros over the carry straps but the velcro is rapidly filling with grass etc.
Overall, I like my mat but I would recommend others to try before they buy as there may be better large mats out there.
