Designed to reduce rope drag on long pitches, especially where there is a sudden change of direction, the revolver uses a pulley roller in the carabiners apex. Using an I-Beam construction for the body of the carabiner reduces its weight without impacting strength. Revolvers can also be used in rescue situations as a pulley.
