The world famous Beta Stick is designed to help you get started on sport routes, this extendable pole has a specially designed head that will allow you to clip a carabiner into the first or second bolt. It has the capacity for lasso clipping and quickdraw removal too and has an ergonomic head angle for easy access to bolt hangers. • Integral hooking feature for rope retrieval
  • New pole design to prevent spinning with secure locking mechanisms and a stiffer, more durable build quality
  • A dual position spring to securely retain karabiners, optimise gate opening and release smoothly
  • Compatible with a wide range of snap gate karabiners – both solid and wire gate
  • An ergonomically angled head to easily access bolt hangers in difficult clipping situations
  • Clips to harness for ‘bolt-to-bolting

a superb upgrade

Better than the previous beta stick in many ways all highlighted by their promotional material.

Only annoyances I've found is the little rubber cap easily falls of allowing dirt into the tubes. Secondly I'd recommend getting some cord to attach a carabiner to the head rather than putting a carabiner directly through the attachment hole. It constantly gets in the way and sadly means you can't keep it attached to yourself while clipping if you're taking it up a climb with you.

Easy to use and works well with our DMM QD's. Seems well made and light weight.

I clipped the first bolts on a bunch of climbs, I'm still alive. 5 stars

Great bit of kit. Used for many years for sketchy first bolts. Works very well with my wire gate draws but not so good with other solid gates I have tried; might be worth trying before you buy. Also handy for clipping past crux sections on routes to work on them top rope if you've had enough of falling!

The standard device works very well. I managed to clip a bolt with a draw and rope attached at 4 to 5 metres on a particularly long run out. Unfortunately the clip stick plastic collars that tighten and release the poles break very easily. On the first outing one of the poles became untightenable. Shame. I would not recommend this device
