Trainingstone Positive Crimps

P267Z8455
$50.21

Bleaustone Positive Crimps should be easy enough to hold on vertical walls, and great for training on wall angles up to 30 degrees. Beyond 30 degrees the hold is no longer positive and so gritted teeth will be required on steep overhangs.

The pack is comprised of

  • Four central holds: two concave profile, two convex
  • Two left holds (marked L)
  • Two right-handed holds (marked R)

Positive Crimps can be either bolted or screwed on to the climbing wall.

A great set of holds. I've put them onto a back board of my fingerboard to make a more complete training hang board which has renewed my desire to train hard again. I wanted positive holds to reduce the risk of injury but still train and climb a lot and I think the balance has paid off well. Love them. The spare holds that wouldn't fit on my board have been donated to the climbing wall I work at and gone onto the 45 system board. A lot of the customers have now got some great projects with them and have all had positive things to say about the holds. Well done Bleaustone and thank you Banana Fingers

Bought these holds last summer and theyre quality. Ive got other crimps on my 40 degree woodie, but these are my favourites and work nicely for building crimp strength up. Going to try some of the harder Bleaustone crimps next. Top company with good customer service also.

Quality holds - ergonomically shaped, nice finish. We have a 45 degree wall so have had to train a little before using them on it. They are still very hard for me (I can climb ~F6a on lead) on it as the positive nature is somewhat diminished by the steep wall!

See also my review of 45 degree slopers. I have fitted these positive crimps to my woody, which is set at about 10 - 15 degrees. Like the slopers these holds are easy to fit and appear to hold their position well. In terms of comfort, the holds are well moulded and have no sharp edges unlike some small crimps. There are minor differences between the holds which can be exploited to target specific weaknesses, for example, I have used the smaller holds for the left hand side of the board to give the left hand a harder workout since my left hand is noticeably weaker than my right. The crimps are significantly harder to use than the slopers and I can't imagine trying to use them on a really steep wall. I use the holds to isolate and target specific crimp strength by climbing up them and then down climbing to the point of failure, about 4 to 6 mves, then rest for 1 to 2 minutes and repeating the exercise up to three times.
