$127.43
$183.49

The Shadow is the most aggressive model of Black Diamond Diamond's new line of climbing shoes, and is designed for overhanging sport routes and hard bouldering. The downturned last, soft midsole, and moulded high-friction rubber sole are all designed to provide high levels of sensitivity and performance on small footholds and steep ground. It's also highly comfortable, with a unique upper material.

Unique features of the Shadow include the Engineered Knit Technology tongue. The mesh structure is more breathable and stretchy than traditional leather and synthetic, and will help to keep your feet cooler and drier when climbing in the gym or on hot days. And, rather than cut from a single, uni-width piece of rubber, the Shadow's sole is moulded - like forging a carabiner. This one-piece construction allows extra rubber to be placed in areas that require extra durability, less rubber in areas where sensitivity is needed, and also reduces bulk, making for a highly precise shoe.

Details:
• 4.3mm rubber
• Microfibre upper keeps stretch to a minimum
• A combination of printed and molded high friction rubber maximizes durability, dexterity and grip for toe-hooking
• Velcro strap for fit adjustability
• Unisex

A fantastic pair of shoes, I still can’t believe these are black diamond’s first shoes.

Aggressive but not too aggressive. They can still be used on slabs and long problems. They are very stiff at the front, but have enough flexibility at the back for smearing. The toe hook patch is extraordinary and the heel is so solid. They are very small tho, and I would recommend going a size up from your current climbing shoes. I had the LaSportiva Otaki’s in size 6.5 and ended up getting these in 7.5. I love the design and comfort of these shoes whilst climbing and the knit prevents my feet from getting too hot. Problems: you need to be very precise on the toe so as not to ruin the perfect edge. On the edge of the big toe it can be very painful and can require some wearing in. Finally, because they are black, when they get chalky it really shows.
