The Five Ten Aleon is a high tech bouldering and sport climbing shoe designed by Fred Nicole. It is a medium stiffness shoe which is asymmetric and moderately downturned, This stiffer midsole has a diamond cut out in the toe box to retain flex and senitivity whilst giving more support on tiny holds. A brand new last has a wider forefoot and a more pointed toe box than others in the Five Ten range, this directs power to the big toe and offers greater precision. The Aleon also features a very strong tension rand and a high arch which further reinforces the power being put through to the big toe.

The use of time tested C4 rubber for the outsole ensures huge levels of grip along with durability and a large rubber toe patch makes for more stable toe hooking.

By using a Primeknit material (technology stolen from Adidas trainers) in place of a standard tongue there is a hugging, sock like fit with huge amounts of flexibility. The microfibre upper is also lined for increased comfort with limited stretch and the inclusion of a single velcro strap closure secures your foot into place without losing the 'slipper' feel.

Details:

  • Hook-and-loop closure
  • adidas Primeknit textile upper
  • Textile lining
  • Stealth® C4 rubber outsole
  • Medium-stiff midsole
  • Sock-like construction hugs the foot
  • Concave toe box for steep climbing

How I choose the correct size?

All climbing shoe models fit differently. We put together our 'shoeculator' to help you find the right size in a new model, compared to your old climbing shoes or street shoes.

Choose from the options below to find your size in the Five-Ten Aleon
Climbing Shoe
or
Street Shoe

This sizing advice is based on two pairs of brand new shoes. Leather shoes tend to stretch more than synthetic shoes. When switching from synthetic to leather you may want to select a smaller size.

Check Sizing Carefully

I’m EU44 in most street or approach shoes which is technically UK9.5+, so I originally ordered a 9UK (same downsize as for tight quantum). I could not get into a 9UK at all, so ordered a UK9.5 and it’s great fit; super tight, but no dead space and becoming comfortable with use. Look out for the pointed shape because the angle across the toes to the big toe roughly starts from the ball, and might knuckle your little toes a little too much if you want to knuckle the big toe. Heel is narrow and excellent.
Overall high quality shoe that I feel competes with the Solution more than the Skwama

The perfect bouldering shoe:)

The fit was perfect for my foot, and the heel is a big upgrade from previous five ten shoes. For me the primeknit is something that makes this shoe, for me the most comfortable shoe I have ever used. The sole is great for both edging and smearing. The stealth rubber is always solid.
When it comes to size I went for a uk 8/eu 42, and that is my normal streetshoe size. Compared to other shoes when it comes to size:
Scarpa Instinct VSR size uk 7 1/2/ eu 41
Scarpa Drago size uk 7/ EU 40 1/2
La sportiva solution size uk uk 6 1/2/ EU 40
Five ten Hiangle size uk 8/EU 42

Great shoe, sizing is different

I just got a pair of this shoes and they are amazing. Primeknit make them easy to put on because is really elastic but also keep them tight. 5.10 rubber is great and solid as always. The only thing is that uk size is the same as other models but 1/2 number less in american number, so fiscally the shoe is a little smaller.
