Five Ten Anasazi VCS C4

The most popular shoe from 5.10 now comes in two options and if you preferred the Five Ten Anasazi VCS before it changed over to the softer Onyxx rubber then the answer is here. The Five Ten Anasazi VCS C4 is the same shoe but with the original C4 rubber, the use of C4 rubber means that the shoe is a bit softer and flexes more than the Golden Tan equivalent. This means the shoe is slightly more suited to indoor climbing and anywhere that you might find a bit more smearing than edging (Font would be a good example). With a vegan friendly lined synthetic upper the Anasazi C4 will not stretch much whilst breaking in so dont size them too tightly, the dual velcro closure also allows quick and easy adjustments to fit.

Details:

  • Stealth® C4™ rubber outsole (2mm)
  • Lined synthetic Cowdura upper – No stretch
  • Double-strand Velcro closure system
  • Asymmetric toe box
  • High heel tension
  • Stiffness – Stiff
  • Vegan

Suited to:

  • Lengthy routes
  • All day sessions
  • All round climbing

How I choose the correct size?

All climbing shoe models fit differently. We put together our 'shoeculator' to help you find the right size in a new model, compared to your old climbing shoes or street shoes.

Choose from the options below to find your size in the Five-Ten Five Ten Anasazi VCS C4
Climbing Shoe
or
Street Shoe

This sizing advice is based on two pairs of brand new shoes. Leather shoes tend to stretch more than synthetic shoes. When switching from synthetic to leather you may want to select a smaller size.

Bought a size 11.5 and its a great fit for my size 11 feet, still nice and tight with great grip on the wall.
Delivery was fast and well packaged!

These shoes perform very well on flat walls and slabs, as they use great sticky rubber and have good edging capability. With these shoes, heel hooking is not just any ordinary foot placement, as it pulls your body in close to the wall and provides great balance. However, I do not suggest these shoes for bouldering or steep terrain, although they are alright I guess, but they have little toe hooking capability.

These are awesome shoes, I've been a long time fan of the Anasazi line and I think the VCS C4 are my favourites (although it's quite hard to choose between them all). I buy these at my trainer size and they're a perfect fit for me, not too tight or loose.

Having owned, and been very happy with, the standard tan-coloured VCS I elected to replace them with a pair of these C4 soled shoes in search of more stiffness.

As you'd expect, the fit of these is very much that of the normal tan shoe. The heel is a touch less baggy but no more agressive than my tans - which I believe were the older last compared to these. Once bedded in and with the initial clunkiness knocked off they feel great.

The C4 sole is definitely a touch stiffer than the standard ONYXX but so much as to be unworkably insensitive. If you fit them tight enough in the toe, the stiffness is very usable (though unlike the lace-up Blancos you can't adjust the toe area).

Hopefully the sole retains its stiffness advantage over the tan VCS as they age and mellow.
