The Scarpa Furia Air feels different to everything else on the market, it is super soft and sensitive but also light weight and highly breathable. It is about as close as it gets to wearing no shoes at all, but with a lot more friction.
The upper is constructed from a bi-layer perforated microfibre upper which helps keep the weight of the shoe down to a mere 150g but also minimises stretch and allows for excellent air flow. The toe box features an Alcantara insert at the big toe with an offset four toe stitch for the best fit, it also has two way stretch so it holds it shape better over time. The inclusion of a minimal midsole provides a little bit of support without losing any feel, this 0.9mm Flexan strip is thinner than on either the Furia S or Drago but is over a larger area, this means that it is stiffer at the toes than the Furia S and Drago but if softer everywhere else.
The Furia Air also features the MLT (Medial Lateral Tension) system which provides tension in differing amounts to either side of the shoe to help focus power more towards the big toe and enhance the asymettrical shape. A PAF (Power Absorbing Fit) heel construction also brings tension forwards into the toes as well as giving you an excellent fit.
This is all finished off with a 3mm Vibram XS Grip2 outsole and 2mm heel for secure foot placements and heel hooks.
