Mundaka
The Tenaya Mundaka is the most aggressive shoe in the Tenaya range and was designed to produce more sensitivity and precision. It is best suited to overhanging terrain but will still prove a useful tool on slabs. As well as being Tenayas most aggressive shoe it is also it the widest with a construction which minimises pressure on the toes whilst maximising transmission of power. Just like the Oasi and Iati the Mundaka is built around RB Range X and SXR dynamic technologies so the shoe responds dynamically to the different foot positions required for maximum performance whilst the DRAXTOR closure provides an accurate fit with balanced tension across the whole shoe.

How I choose the correct size?
All climbing shoe models fit differently. We put together our 'shoeculator' to help you find the right size in a new model, compared to your old climbing shoes or street shoes.
This sizing advice is based on two pairs of brand new shoes. Leather shoes tend to stretch more than synthetic shoes. When switching from synthetic to leather you may want to select a smaller size.

1 star only due to fit compared to
I am now onto my second pairs of iati and masais and I love them. Admittedly I got carried away with sale prices and got a pair of these for the gym. Went for the same size as my iati (40) but the fit is entirely different. While I appreciate the toe box is wider, the whole shoe feels baggy, especially on the heel. Even comparing my worn in iati to these new out of the box the heel was noticeably wider to look at. Won’t be keeping these unfortunately. Just be aware if coming from another model that the fit isn’t the same. I think I’d actually have gone down half a size if I’d known. Risk of buying online eh!
Great shoe - perfect fit and performance
I previously had a pair of Tenaya Iati's, which I loved, but which we too narrow (so bulged over the edges after a while). So when I read a review which said that the Mundaka's were wider than the Iati's I was interested. We all seem to have a manufacturer that makes shoes that suit our feet right of, and it's Tenaya for me. I tried on the Mundaka's and they were right, from the off. Great sock-like fit, even when tight. Minimal breaking in. Good velcro strap. Soft (which I like) and sticky. All-in-all the perfect shoes!
