Oasi

P2337Z20592
(28)
$98.83
$152.91

Being the shoe used in the first 9a onsight you will expect big things from the Tenaya Oasi, and you wont be disappointed. The shoe has been in development for 2 years to achieve a performance shoe which can be used on everything from micro edges whilst bouldering to slopers on an endurance pitch.

As usual there are various acronyms for the technologies in the shoe. First off there is the MRRB system which stands for Maximum Range in Response and Balance, i cant find any details about how this works but it is supposed to help your balance through dynamic response(?)

There is also the SXRDynamics system which links the fastening system to the sole and structure of the shoe for a better fit and increased power. Tenaya have taken this to the next level in the Oasi with what they call the 'Draxtor' system which is a very precise lacing system.

The Oasi is an exercise in design to prove that performance doesnt necessarily mean a shoe is uncomfortable.

Details:

- Material: Microfibre
- Fastener: Velcro, Draxtor PAT system
- Tounge Lycra with two perforated layers
- Lining: Cotton with TXT treatment
- Midsole: Double midsole GI 1.8 y TST 150
- Insole: TST multi-layer stretch tex
- Outsole: Vibram XS Grip 3.5mm

Sizing:

These fit a bit more like Sportivas than other Tenaya models, they are also narrower than some shoes which is good for medium/lower volume feet.

How I choose the correct size?

All climbing shoe models fit differently. We put together our 'shoeculator' to help you find the right size in a new model, compared to your old climbing shoes or street shoes.

Choose from the options below to find your size in the Tenaya Oasi
Climbing Shoe
or
Street Shoe

This sizing advice is based on two pairs of brand new shoes. Leather shoes tend to stretch more than synthetic shoes. When switching from synthetic to leather you may want to select a smaller size.

Customer

On my 4th pair of these, excellent shoes. Perfect allrounder who does it all with feel & sensitivity + tons of comfort.
Sticky soft rubber, but wears out a bit too fast. Sizes 1 down from my street shoe.

Highly recommended :-)

A truly excellent shoe.

I've come to these shoes after wearing Sportiva Mythos's, Scarpa Vapor V's and Instinct VS's. The forefoot is MUCH narrower than the Instincts, and sizing is smaller. ie. My Street shoe is an 8, my scarpas are a 7, and my Oasi's are 6's the same as my Mythos's.

Entry is VERY tight at first, I had real difficulty getting them on, but once broken in they are snug enough to not come off by accident but still be usable from cold without plastic bagging them.

The rand system is good, my forefoot is wrapped by the rand and seems to overhang the sole slightly but all along the toes it is held right in so your toes deliver maximum power to the edge of the shoe with the rand making the rest of the shoe feel like a rubber sock.
the closure system is superb and a one piece closure is also supplied as per photos of the Iati. The tongue is reminiscent of the Solution, but the Oasi is a drastically different shoe.

The shoe seems to look less downturned after break in but is still powerful and im sure it's just an illusion, it just means you aren't walking around with talons for feet making for an exceptionally comfortable shoe!

these are my favorite shoes to date, I only wish they updated it to have the heel rubber over the top of the sole as is the case on the Mundaka but I've noticed no detriments to performance as a result of the way the Oasi is so it's just an observation.

These are very much like the solutions but far more comfortable and versatile. In fact these are so versatile that you could even wear them on long trad routes with no discomfort. The fastening system is also a stroke of genius they are as adjustable as a pair of lace boots with the ease of use of Velcro.
For anyone who has struggled finding a brand of shoe that is comfy and fits I would give these a try.

Best shoe I have owned to date. Brilliant for indoor use with the thin sole, giving you great feel underfoot. They are downturned enough to work well on overhangs, and yet not so overturned that they are useless when smearing (in fact that smear damn well) The velcro strap system is also incredibly clever, you get the ease of use of the velcro but the adjustability of a lace. Whats not to love.

this was the first time I try this shoe.. I use it for multipitch technical routes and sport routes that require lots of balance moves and adherence . I tried it on overhang routes but it failed to stay on the tiniest of holds compared to my other esportiva solution which has higher precision. the heel hook on the tenaya was useful . The shoe is also comfortable and the sole is more durable than la sportiva i.e its a shoe that lasts for longer .
