The Petzl IKO Core headlamp is light at just 79g but offers an impressive 500 lumen output. There is an ultra low profile lamp body with the battery pack on the rear and an AIRFIT headband keeps everything securely in place with a comfortable and ergonomic fit. The arrangement of the multiple LEDs provides a homogenous lighting througout its range. This along with the wide angle of light projection make it an excellent choice for climbing at night, especially as the thin lamp body does not protrude very far, so you can keep your head closer to the rock. As the name suggests, the IKO Core comes with a CORE rechargeable battery but it also compatible with three AAA batteries thanks to the hybrid concept design. Although the AIRFIT headband is more rigid than other models of headtorch it can be folded down for storage. It comes with a pouch to keep it safe when not in use, but this can also be used a diffuser so that you can use the IKO as a lantern.
